Laughter Profile is a new feature to scc.com, This bi-weekly column will feature interviews with members of Sun City Comedy as well as seasoned performers from all over the country.
The Wolf is one of the founding members of Sun City Comedy, originally from El Paso he attended UTEP after a 4 year stint in Japan with the U.S. Air Force. A modern renaissance man, The Wolf is an accomplished musician, writer, artist, and comedian. The Wolf is an act hard to miss. Filled with bizarre anecdotes and strange scenarios seeing the world thru the eyes of the wolf is truly a very twisted and hilarious experience.
I sat down with this performer, but seating seems kinda hard for him, always twitching, his eyes always wondering across the room I managed to get a few questions in:
Sun City Comedy: What got you started in comedy? The Wolf: I have always felt I had a great sense of humor, people are always laughing and seeking me out to do or say something funny.As a child I was funny and I knew it, it came quite naturally.It also caused tremendous problems and complications and I felt misunderstood.My rationale was everything is funny so why ignore it?Businessmen don't walk away from profit, why should I walk away from what comes naturally to me?
We had another great show this past week with two very funny comedians all the way from Houston TX, Jacinto and Lil' Brough. This weekend we held our first administrative staff and investor’s social outing, thanking all of the Sun City Comedy Staff and sponsoring companies that work hard behind the scenes to bring you the best comedy shows in El Paso. In attendance, were Sun City Comedy’s acting CEO Joey B. Marketing Director Gibran Saad, Client and Media Relations Director Brianne Saad, Theatrical Supervisor, Omar Hernandez, Sound Technician, Salvador Hinojos, representatives from El Paso Realty, Bust-A-Gut Defensive Driving School, and borderparties.com were also in attendance. During this time we also took the time to review our business plan and go over projected expectations for the rest of the year and to plan our upcoming one year anniversary extravaganza, also we have great shows coming your way including the Sun City Comedy Summer Tour, more contests, and more comedy shows! We would like to thank all of our staff and sponsors for one wonderful year and we would like to remind everyone to get ready for our one year anniversary celebration, its going to be out of this world! We had our monthly show at CodeRED Café with headliner Danny Keaton. The show was great! With performances by Robert C, Cedric Reed, Ron Keck, and Host Teddy Aspen. The crowds were great and we can’t wait to be back in Las Cruces.

So we got ourselves on the newspaper this week and for once it was something good! It talks about all the work we are doing in getting the comedy scene known in El Paso. Also it talks about our comedy open mic contest and where to find our shows. Sun City Comedy did its final weekly show at Bulldog English Pub this Saturday May 23. We will still feature comedy at this great far east side location, but the shows will be featured once a month, and we will start bringing national known comedians.This final weekly show featured from Dallas TX national touring comedian Danny Keaton. His performance was met with great reactions from the crowd and everyone had a good time before and after the show.

Sun City Comedy attended the What’s Up Magazine Best of the Best party and we had a blast! We managed to get interviews with some of the most colorful characters and business people in El Paso. Sun City Comedy got nominated by What’s Up Magazine for their Best of the Best 09 feature!Sun City Comedy got nominations for Best Adult Entertainment (which at first I thought was a mistake because we are not a strip club…) Best Website and for Best New Company. Also our very own marketing director Jose Saad was nominated as Best Entrepreneur Under 40.
We are happy just to be nominated, less than a year in business and we are already getting some attention. We just want to let everyone know that we will continue to provide comedy shows to all of El Paso and bring fresh and original new talent to the Sun City.
Sun City Comedy Performers Gibran the Comegician, Manny Vigil, and The Wolf, made a surprise visit to El Paso’s Comic Strip to check out the very funny Greg Morton, along with feature performer Dan Gabriel, who invited us over after the show at Maverick’s Bar & Grill on Wednesday. The show was awesome and we here at Sun City Comedy encourage everyone to take a trip to the new El Paso’s Comic Strip next time Greg Morton, and/or Dan Gabriel are around.
